Until January 5, 2014 it will be possible to admire in Florence (at the Gallery of Modern Art in Pitti Palace) some of the Impressionism masterpieces. In fact, thanks to an exchange between the Gallery of Modern Art of the Pitti Palace and the Museum d’Orsay in Paris, two Degas, two Monet, two Cezanne, two Renoir, two Pissarro, a Fantin Latour and a work of Paul Guigou arrived in Florence from this famous French museum. These important pieces are added to some works of the same movement owned by Diego Martelli, the art critic close to the Tuscan movement of Macchiaioli. Worthy of notice above all Rehearsal of the scene of 1874 by Degas. In turn, the Gallery of Palazzo Pitti had served 19 masterpieces of Macchiaoli to set up the “I macchiaioli des impressionistes italiens?” at the Musée de l’Orangerie, ended on July 22 this year. An exchange that aims to highlight possible contaminations and similarities between the movement of Macchioli and the Impressionism. It’s up to you to determine whether there are some and which of the two movements, both very attractive, is closer to your heart. For more information http://www.polomuseale.firenze.it/en/mostre/
