THE FAMOUS VASARI CORRIDOR ENRICHED BY NEW 127 SELF-PORTRAITS COMING FROM UFFIZI WAREHOUSE.
The Vasari Corridor, the oldest portraits gallery in the world, has been enriched from 27 September by more 127 portraits of Italian and European artists. In fact, this famous elevated passageway between Palazzo Vecchio and Palazzo Pitti which allowed the Medici to cross the city safely and without being seen, embellished in the course of time by a collection of paintings and portraits, has been enriched by 127 self-portraits of twentieth century coming from the Uffizi warehouse, not open to the public. Among the painters we may mention Pistoletto, De Chirico, Chagall, Marino Marini, Pietro Annigoni.
